CFC Underwriting enters new phase of growth
Specialist lines underwriting agent, CFC Underwriting, today announced an aggressive growth plan which will see it extend both its product lines and geographic presence. The business expects gross premium income to grow by more than 30% in 2008 and to spearhead this activity, the business has appointed Graeme Newman as Business Development Director.
David Walsh, Managing Director of CFC Underwriting, explains: "Since we launched our business eight years ago, we have built a reputation for developing innovative insurance products and delivering great service to brokers. Our business has gone from strength to strength, and we have just reported our eighth successive year of growing revenues and profits. We believe there is significant potential for our business to expand further, both in terms of the products we write and the geographic territories in which we operate - and so I am delighted to welcome Graeme on board to spearhead our efforts. He has a strong entrepreneurial drive and extensive experience both in insurance and the technology industry. He will be a valuable addition to our team and, working together, I am confident that we will achieve our objectives in 2008 and beyond."
Graeme joins CFC from DRS Insurance Services, the specialist broker for technology and new media companies that he co-founded. The business was recently sold to Oxygen. Prior to this, Graeme co-founded Digital Risk Solutions Limited, a technology risk management consultancy. Graeme also spent four years at Deloitte Consulting operating in a variety of roles across industries with a focus on IT project and risk management.
Graeme will be responsible for all components of business and broker development strategy, in addition to bringing new products to market and exploring new international opportunities. He will also be responsible for CFC's sales and marketing programmes.
Commenting on his new role, Graeme said: "CFC has reached an exciting phase in its evolution. In comparison to its competitors, CFC shows real innovation and I believe there are tremendous opportunities to exploit both in the UK and overseas. I am delighted to join a team of ambitious and professional individuals, and relish the challenges that lie ahead."
With producing brokers in over 15 countries around the world, CFC Underwriting is known for providing its broker partners with innovative insurance solutions, specialist expertise and outstanding service. CFC Underwriting was appointed to the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) Schemes programme as the exclusive provider of cyber-liability and e-risk insurance in 2004.
