Specialist lines underwriting agency, CFC has been announced as Underwriter of the Year 2010 by the renowned British Insurance Awards.

Having been shortlisted amongst such prestigious company as Hiscox, Chubb and CNA Europe, the award was presented to CFC at a glittering ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Managing Director, David Walsh, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the award for Underwriter of the Year. It’s a great honour. To receive this recognition is especially gratifying because at just ten years old, we are still a relative newcomer and our approach is different to many of the traditional underwriters.  We’ve always believed strongly in what we do, but now we have the resounding endorsement of the industry establishment and it’s a great feeling!”

He continued: “Our plans for the future are as ambitious as ever, we will continue to develop best of breed insurance for new and emerging professions by thoroughly understanding the sectors we write for and working with brokers to provide superior service for their clients.  We are a fast paced business and this award will only serve to spur us on even more.” 

The British Insurance Awards has been running for sixteen years.  The event is designed to showcase top class performance and innovation, reward achievement and raise standards.  Entries are judged by a panel of market experts and practitioners, analysts, consultants, industry commentators, and political and trade union representatives.

Recent winners of Underwriter of the Year include Groupama Insurances, Zurich Insurance, Royal & SunAlliance UK Marine, Hiscox Insurance Company, AIG Europe (UK) and Brit Insurance.
