CFC acquires Insane Technologies

CFC extends global cyber incident response team with acquisition of Insane Technologies.

LONDON - 16 March 2021 – CFC, a specialist insurance provider and pioneer in emerging risk, today announced that it has extended its in-house cyber incident response team with the acquisition of Insane Technologies, an Australian cyber security and incident response provider. The deal is subject to approval by the Australian Foreign Investment Board.

CFC’s award-winning in-house cyber claims and incident response team is one of the largest in the world and has handled over 2,000 cyber claims in the past year alone. With the addition of Insane Technologies, the company deepens its bench of highly skilled in-house technical experts and furthers its mission to offer 24x7, follow-the-sun cyber security and incident response services to its customers around the world.

“Like us, Insane have been handling cyber security incidents for over two decades and are one of the most experienced providers in the market,’ said Dave Walsh, CEO of CFC. “We’re excited to bring their team of deeply-skilled technical experts in-house to help strengthen our proposition for our cyber insurance customers.’

CFC has been providing cyber insurance for over 20 years and has one of the largest cyber underwriting teams in the market. Its suite of cyber insurance products are trusted by more than 50,000 businesses across 65 countries.

The company recently released the latest version of its cyber incident response app – the world’s first – which offers real-time threat intelligence alerts, on-demand access to CFC’s incident response team and the ability to instantly notify a claim or cyber incident.

CFC also recently released Connect, its proprietary self-service trading platform for cyber insurance, to the Australian market, offering the ability to quote and bind a cyber policy in minutes by answering just a single question.

“CFC is one of the only cyber insurance providers in the market who are leading the way in incident response, threat intelligence and risk management,’ said David Rudduck, Managing Director of Insane. “We look forward to joining the CFC team and offering cutting-edge cyber security services to our customers around the world.”

CFC previously acquired Texas-based incident response provider Solis Security in October 2019, and insurtech ThreatInformer in 2020.
